Calendar integration

Calendar integration

Bobclass connects to external calendars in both directions. The two features live side by side in Settings → External calendars and are easy to confuse, so it is worth being clear about which does what.

Importing your device's calendar

Connects your device's own calendar app so that your personal events are overlaid on top of your Bobclass calendar. This lets you see a conflict before you schedule a session on top of it.
Two things to know:
  • It is per device. Each device reads its own local calendar, so you need to set this up separately on every iPhone, iPad, Mac or Android device you use.
  • Imported events appear in week view only , and they are read-only. They are a visual aid: they do not block a slot from being booked, and they cannot be edited from inside Bobclass. To make time genuinely unavailable, use  Blocking a day (Day off)  or adjust the instructor's working hours.
If you have connected a calendar and nothing is appearing, see  Imported calendar events are not showing .

Export as iCal

Export as iCal generates a subscription link for your Bobclass schedule, which you can add to any external calendar app that supports iCal subscriptions — Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Outlook and others. This keeps your sessions visible outside Bobclass, which is useful if you plan your week somewhere else.
The subscription is one-way: it publishes your Bobclass sessions outwards. It does not bring anything in.

Updates are not instant

Once you have subscribed, it is the external calendar app that decides how often to check the link for changes — not Bobclass. Some services refresh within minutes; others take considerably longer. Google Calendar in particular is known for being slow to pick up changes to a subscribed calendar, sometimes by many hours.
This is outside our control, and there is no setting in Bobclass that can speed it up.
Export as iCal is best suited to a relatively stable schedule. If you move a session this morning, do not expect it to shift in your Google Calendar this morning too.
For an up-to-date view of your schedule, use Bobclass Studio Manager itself, or  Bobclass Team  for your instructors — both are live.
